Lil sweetie is 5.5 months old here. She is getting so much of her personality and I just love it! Her giggle makes me the happiest momma on the block:)

SOOC-straight out of the camera

This image was taken by my husband. I processed it with subsets from our rose and grace collection. First, I lightened the yellow tones and increased the pink tones (I think skin looks so much better with a pinkish tone). Next, I cleaned up a few red spots on baby's cheek and many red spots on my skin (wear spf 50 ladies...everyday!). Next, I "lightened the way" and added a vignette "focus on me." Lastly, I smoothed our skin and sharpened some specifics (eyelashes, her lips, my teeth, hair, ears, and nose). See more about Rose & Grace here.

Just Lately

For those of you who didn't know, our first daughter was born last August. That puts her at a little over 5 months now. She is the absolute light of our day. After having her, I believe in miracles. Every baby is a pure miracle, a gift from God. I enjoy her more than words can say. She is amazing and incredible and so very special to me.

I have started creating psd actions for photographers. Photoshop is a huge part of a photographer's life. It is great for adding a pop of color, cleaning up a blemish or splotchy skin, adding sparkles to eyes and more. Most professional photographers use photoshop in some sort of way, some more than others. It can be extremely time consuming. One image could take a photographer anywhere from 1 minute to several hours to retouch. In photoshop, you can take it a step further and actually record your actions. That way, you don't have to repeat the 400 million editing clicks on each picture. After you record it once, it's there to use over and over again. It is a huge time saver! I have been using my daughter to experiment with these actions so you will probably see quite a few images of her. I am in the process of creating action sets and can't wait to create more for photographers.

Anyway, here is the most recent picture I have of her. I think yellow might be her color. First of all, I brightened the image a bit (my exposure seems to have been a little low in my settings). Next, I added a rosiness to the image, giving it an antique pink/shabby chic feel. I lightened and softened her skin. Her eyes are pretty blue, but this image didn't do them justice so I added contrast to her eyes thus bringing the sparkle out in them. Her lips have the sweetest shape. I simply lightened the red in them, which brought out the pink. Lastly, I sharpened the yellow color in the image and Wahla, there's my image. I am currently preparing this set for sale for photographers.

Jenna & Justin

Jenna & Justin were married on May 12, 2012. They had a beautiful ceremony at St. Anne's church gathered with friends and family. Jenna & Justin smiled at each other throughout the ceremony as they joined their lives together by God. They had a sweetness for each that lasted all day long. The couple had their reception at the Garvey Building where they had dinner, cake, and danced the night away. Congratulations to Jenna & Justin!

~Miracle in the Making

Colton is One!

It's a milestone for Colton. He's One!! Colton was such a little sweetie during his one year session.  His mommy brought him a special treat for the end of the session...Cake! CHOCOLATE cake! He took no time to dig into it! Within seconds he had a big handful in his mouth. He was enjoying squishing it between his hands and feet too...too cute! I hope you have a wonderful first birthday!

Courtney

Courtney's senior session was so much fun! She looked absolutely adorable in her cowboy hat and camo boots. I loved her country flare. Courtney has a fun-loving personality so it was a breeze capturing her laughing and giggling throughout the session. Sometimes I couldn't get her to stop laughing:) and I love that about her. She is carefree and easy-going and not to mention, beautiful, both inside and out. Thanks Courtney for being so great to work with and good luck on your upcoming senior year!!

Josie

I can't believe that Josie is already 7 months old! It seemed like just yesterday that I was taking her newborn pictures. This little girl is such a sweetheart and did so well at her session. She wore her outfits well! I loved the bow she had on and was quite impressed that her mom made it for her! Josie isn't a huge fan of bows (I can't say I've met a 7 month old that is), but she left them on just long enough for me to capture a couple of shots. Her last couple of outfits were particularly special because they were from her Grandma. Her Grandma actually wore these dresses as a baby, how unique! Thanks Josie for a sweet session. <3

Elizabeth-9 months

Elizabeth is so precious. I started photographing her as a newborn and it has been so neat to see how she changes through her sessions. She is very proper for a 9 month old and was in her 6 month session too. She sits up nice and tall and is great at posing for the camera:) She has beautiful, creamy skin and perfect blue eyes. I especially love her little button nose and sweet kissy cheeks. See you next time Elizabeth!

Kaley-Senior 2013

Kaley did a great job at her session, especially with the heat and wind that day!  She accessorized well and her boots and dress were a perfect fit for the wheat field. I think she may have a hard time choosing a favorite. She has incredibly beautiful skin with piercing eyes. The combination of those two things make my job even more inspiring than it already is! Good luck to Kaley and her upcoming senior year!

Kirsten & Riley are such a beautiful couple with incredibly sweet hearts. They and their wedding party were so much fun to work with. I could see how loved they are from their family and friends just by watching them interact. People love to be around them. They are easy-going, fun-loving, full of life and happy! They look at each other with love in their hearts and share a friendship that seems so natural. I've always been a big believer that a relationship starts with a strong bond of friendship. I imagine Kirsten & Riley spend most of their time together and see each other as "best friends." Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Rosenhagen on their recent marriage! Max

Max is such a fun little boy with so much life and personality inside of him. He had the sweetest smiles and some of the funniest expressions. He enjoys fishing, shooting his gun, climbing trees and jumping! It's fun to see how much he's changed from last year and just goes to show how fast kids grow up. Hold them close and love them unconditionally! Thanks Max for such a fun session!

My grandmother passed away this past week, so I took time away from the computer and work to remember and honor her and be of support to my family. She was a wonderful woman, full of life and laughter, always cooking a full spread for her friends and family or playing a game of pitch at the senior center. She could tell a story like it happened yesterday, while you attentively listened. The story always ended in smiles and laughter. I am going to miss her like crazy as will so many other people. I can clearly hear her voice and see her smile when I think of her. We love you grandma and are thinking of you again today.

Birthday Boy Hunter!

Hunter is 1!

Hunter had a fun first birthday and brought his new, red wagon to show off in his session. He also was given a  birthday cake that was just his size. We got some incredible laughs and smiles out of Hunter while he was indulging in his delicious cake. He had it everywhere...in his ears, nose,  and even in his sweet little baby rolls. Happy first birthday to lil Mr. Hunter!
