Jenna & Justin

Jenna & Justin were married on May 12, 2012. They had a beautiful ceremony at St. Anne's church gathered with friends and family. Jenna & Justin smiled at each other throughout the ceremony as they joined their lives together by God. They had a sweetness for each that lasted all day long. The couple had their reception at the Garvey Building where they had dinner, cake, and danced the night away. Congratulations to Jenna & Justin!

Colton is One!

It's a milestone for Colton. He's One!! Colton was such a little sweetie during his one year session.  His mommy brought him a special treat for the end of the session...Cake! CHOCOLATE cake! He took no time to dig into it! Within seconds he had a big handful in his mouth. He was enjoying squishing it between his hands and feet too...too cute! I hope you have a wonderful first birthday!

Courtney

Courtney's senior session was so much fun! She looked absolutely adorable in her cowboy hat and camo boots. I loved her country flare. Courtney has a fun-loving personality so it was a breeze capturing her laughing and giggling throughout the session. Sometimes I couldn't get her to stop laughing:) and I love that about her. She is carefree and easy-going and not to mention, beautiful, both inside and out. Thanks Courtney for being so great to work with and good luck on your upcoming senior year!!

Josie

I can't believe that Josie is already 7 months old! It seemed like just yesterday that I was taking her newborn pictures. This little girl is such a sweetheart and did so well at her session. She wore her outfits well! I loved the bow she had on and was quite impressed that her mom made it for her! Josie isn't a huge fan of bows (I can't say I've met a 7 month old that is), but she left them on just long enough for me to capture a couple of shots. Her last couple of outfits were particularly special because they were from her Grandma. Her Grandma actually wore these dresses as a baby, how unique! Thanks Josie for a sweet session. <3

Elizabeth-9 months

Elizabeth is so precious. I started photographing her as a newborn and it has been so neat to see how she changes through her sessions. She is very proper for a 9 month old and was in her 6 month session too. She sits up nice and tall and is great at posing for the camera:) She has beautiful, creamy skin and perfect blue eyes. I especially love her little button nose and sweet kissy cheeks. See you next time Elizabeth!

Kaley-Senior 2013

Kaley did a great job at her session, especially with the heat and wind that day!  She accessorized well and her boots and dress were a perfect fit for the wheat field. I think she may have a hard time choosing a favorite. She has incredibly beautiful skin with piercing eyes. The combination of those two things make my job even more inspiring than it already is! Good luck to Kaley and her upcoming senior year!

Kirsten & Riley

Kirsten & Riley
April 21, 2012

Kirsten & Riley are such a beautiful couple with incredibly sweet hearts. They and their wedding party were so much fun to work with. I could see how loved they are from their family and friends just by watching them interact. People love to be around them. They are easy-going, fun-loving, full of life and happy! They look at each other with love in their hearts and share a friendship that seems so natural. I've always been a big believer that a relationship starts with a strong bond of friendship. I imagine Kirsten & Riley spend most of their time together and see each other as "best friends." Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Rosenhagen on their recent marriage! Stay tuned for all of their images from their day finishing soon. Click "comments" to leave them a comment below.

Max

Max is such a fun little boy with so much life and personality inside of him. He had the sweetest smiles and some of the funniest expressions. He enjoys fishing, shooting his gun, climbing trees and jumping! It's fun to see how much he's changed from last year and just goes to show how fast kids grow up. Hold them close and love them unconditionally! Thanks Max for such a fun session!

My grandmother passed away this past week, so I took time away from the computer and work to remember and honor her and be of support to my family. She was a wonderful woman, full of life and laughter, always cooking a full spread for her friends and family or playing a game of pitch at the senior center. She could tell a story like it happened yesterday, while you attentively listened. The story always ended in smiles and laughter. I am going to miss her like crazy as will so many other people. I can clearly hear her voice and see her smile when I think of her. We love you grandma and are thinking of you again today.

Birthday Boy Hunter!

Hunter is 1!

Hunter had a fun first birthday and brought his new, red wagon to show off in his session. He also was given a  birthday cake that was just his size. We got some incredible laughs and smiles out of Hunter while he was indulging in his delicious cake. He had it everywhere...in his ears, nose,  and even in his sweet little baby rolls. Happy first birthday to lil Mr. Hunter!

Zach's Senior Session

Zach will be graduating soon from Wichita High East. He had a terrific senior session and brought his dog, Maggie, to be in a few of his shots. Maggie loved the attention she was getting and gave her best "puppy dog" eyes for the camera. Zach was easygoing and a polite young man to work with. Best of luck to Zach in his upcoming college years!

Baby Grace

Baby Grace was just precious for her newborn session! She especially liked being wrapped up in her soft, cuddly blanket while we posed her and admired her sweet little face.  I loved the shabby, chic headband that her mom brought for her and I think you will too after watching her session. Her adorable little belly wrinkles had me swooning and reminded me why I love to photograph newborns. Enjoy!

Jayden & Hannah

Jayden and Hannah were so much fun during their session! They were making silly faces at each other and making me laugh through most of the hour. I loved the way they hugged each other and leaned on one another's shoulder. They played together, smiled together, frowned together, and laughed together. They share an incredible gift in life, the gift of having a brother or sister. Their closeness was apparent and I believe their special friendship will last a lifetime.

I absolutely love the photos I have of my brother, sister, and I when we were growing up.  They are irreplaceable and I will cherish them forever. Keep old photos of your family in a special place and try to update them often, for you never know how important those photos will be to you one day.

Cade Senior 2012

Cade was awesome to work with. He brought great clothes, shoes, a cool car and his football gear. His piercing blue eyes and smiles gave us quite a few incredible shots. Here's to Cade's future and an unforgettable football season at Butler!

Brothers

These boys were so easy going during their session. I was very impressed with how great they did through the session with such a rainy, chilly day. And, they were in shorts! There is something very special about the bonds that brothers have and I'd say these boys have it. They were giggling together, making jokes and helping each other out with the poses. Enjoy!

Calvin

Calvin's session was a dream for a photographer. We had the session at his grandpa and grandma's home and it was full of cool antiques and collectibles, including a vintage chevy truck and a distressed red barn. It was a beautiful, blue sky kind of day and the sun was beaming!  Calvin had a cool, calm personality and was great to work with. I think he's going to have a tough time choosing a favorite!

Melts My Soul

This session show makes me feel week in the knees! There is something about maternity sessions that just melts my soul. Maybe the presence of God I see in the images or the beauty of a mother carrying her child, whatever it is, it makes me smile and cry at the same time. It's an amazing feeling and I feel honored to be able to capture such beauty in expecting mothers and couples.  Ashlee and Brandon were so relaxed and enjoyable to work with. There were so many images where they shared such a sweet happiness. She was glowing and looked absolutely radiant.  It won't be long and they will have a new baby girl to share their lives with. Enjoy the show.

Welcoming Baby Brady

The Koester family was filled with joy when they announced "It's a Boy." Brady was welcomed into this world by Ryan, Lori, Cassidy and Cally.

The girls and Brady did an amazing job at their photo session. Cassidy and Cally were very natural and playful during their session. I loved guiding them through poses and seeing their cute little expression. Brady is a handsome little fella and didn't mind putting on a tie for some of the shots. He wears a tie well for just 2 weeks old;) His big sisters held him close and were great helpers. What a cute little bunch! Enjoy the show.

Beautiful Baby Girl

Elizabeth had her session on her 6 month old birthday! She was such a little poser for only 6 months. She had 3 outfit changes and a few shots in her favorite pink boots and kept on posing. I'd say that's pretty impressive for her age! Elizabeth is adorable and extremely lovable! I got a kick out of her serious face in some of these. Enjoy this beautiful baby girl's show!

NEW Action Set!

Let me just say I am SUPER excited to launch my first full action set! I know first hand the time constraints that photographers face and I am thrilled to help lessen the work load. There are a number of things photographers can do in order to make their images stand out from the rest. I am a strong believer in getting it "right" from the get-go, which means manually setting your camera. Automatic is a no-no! But, there is only so much your camera can do for your images. If you have dabbled in photoshop at all, you might know how tedious and time consuming "touching up" your images can be. I have created photoshop actions to help your photos stand out from the rest! The actions will include:  Splash of color, Peaches and cream skin, In the spotlight, Lighten the way, Focus on me, Baby smooth and more with the simple click of a button! I can't wait to share my new action set for the photoshop users out there! We are still trying to name our full set and would love to hear any suggestions!

Don't Give Up!

If there is one thing that I have learned in my past several years, it is that you are capable of anything you set your mind to. You may finish it quickly or it may become a lifelong dream, but with focus, dedication, and a positive attitude, dreams are possible! Fear will try to jump in your path. Give it a karate kick when you see it nearing and replace it with courage. Keep telling yourself you can succeed and sooner or later, you will! At one point or another you might question yourself. That's the fear approaching again...fear of failing. When I first started my photography business two years ago, I was afraid too. It's scary to start something new and unknown. Change scares people whether they like to admit it or not. But who cares if you fall on your face?! People fall on their face all of the time. The difference between you and them is that you will get back up and push through whatever obstacle it is that you're having. You will learn from that obstacle and not let it slow you down but rather charge forward.  Nobody does something perfect the first time. Believe me, I've experienced falling on my face. I learned from it and it taught me to do better for the next time.

There are people out there that want you to succeed. They are rooting for you! They are positive energy and you need to surround yourself with these people who make you smile. These people may be your family, friends or  people you don't even know. They are "feel good" people and truly want good things for people in general. Sadly, you will have people you know that don't support you.  Promise me one thing, do not try to figure out why those people don't root for you. It could be a number of reasons...unhappiness in their own life, lack of their own support system or maybe their mother never taught them how to be supportive or how to lend a hand to friend in need. Maybe they'd rather see you fail than succeed. Why would anybody ever want that for even a stranger? I don't know and have decided that it doesn't matter. What matters are your own goals and your supporters. The real achievers failed many times. But, they never gave up!

Walt Disney: Today Disney rakes in billions from merchandise, movies and theme parks around the world, but Walt Disney himself had a bit of a rough start. He was fired by a newspaper editor because, "he lacked imagination and had no good ideas." After that, Disney started a number of businesses that didn't last too long and ended with bankruptcy and failure. He kept plugging along, however, and eventually found a recipe for success that worked.

Oprah Winfrey: Most people know Oprah as one of the most iconic faces on TV as well as one of the richest and most successful women in the world. Oprah faced a hard road to get to that position, however, enduring a rough and often abusive childhood as well as numerous career setbacks including being fired from her job as a television reporter because she was "unfit for tv."

Elvis Presley: As one of the best-selling artists of all time, Elvis has become a household name even years after his death. But back in 1954, Elvis was still a nobody, and Jimmy Denny, manager of the Grand Ole Opry, fired Elvis Presley after just one performance telling him, "You ain't goin' nowhere, son. You ought to go back to drivin' a truck."

Babe RuthYou probably know Babe Ruth because of his home run record (714 during his career), but along with all those home runs came a pretty hefty amount of strikeouts as well (1,330 in all). In fact, for decades he held the record for strikeouts. When asked about this he simply said, "Every strike brings me closer to the next home run."
